Labour have made it clear that they will cut up to 1500 jobs and vital services such as
SureStart & Libraries
if they gain control of Southampton City Council in May 2012, we can't let this happen!

we need public support to Save Southampton SureStart Centres
Welcome toSave Our Sure Start Southampton website. Southampton's SureStart Centres are under threat from the Southampton Labour Party.
They have indicated that they will cut hundreds of jobs at Southampton City Council if they win next years local elections - Labour leader Richard Williams himself mentioned up to 1500 job losses!
This will mean our SureStart centres will be inevitably axed.
We can't let this happen and on behalf of everyone who uses these vital services and those that provide them we have instigated this campaign to show the strength of support against closing any SureStarts down in Southampton or cutting the jobs of the people that make this such a valuable service for Southampton!

Professional advice is available on Health and Family Matters, Local Childcare Options, Access to Specialist Services for Families, Training and Job Oportunities or you can just socialise with other people.
ACTIVITIES:
The professional Sure Start staff will create fun and engaging activities suitable for all the 0-5 year olds that are welcome to Sure Start Centre's and sessions.
EVENTS:
Bringing communities and young families together through Sure Start organised events is a crucial element of the work undertaken by Sure Start.
SUPPORT:
Support can come in a number of ways and midwives and health visitors are on site to offer Free advice and support to anyone attending.
